{Fun times in San Antonio}

Over Thanksgiving weekend we were at a soccer tournament in San Antonio. Besides going to 4 differant soccer games we had a little fun out in the hallway of our hotel. When I get bored and the boys are around I try and get some fun shots of them. We sat out in the hallway and just did stupid stuff. By the time we were done we had a little audience. We were having so much fun. I love hanging with my boys, they all have the best sense of humor, they helped entertain all the soccer boys and their parents...

This is the Rivard family whom I've known for almost 14 years and love dearly . We have had some wonderful times together. So when Jacquetta calls and say's "run over here real quick and lets get these Christmas pictures over with", I get in my car and head over. As you can tell it went off with out any problems. I love these kids like they were my own. There's nothing better in life when you have a great group of friends that will be in your life forever. Cherish them, Laugh with them and keep reminding them that they owe you for doing this. (lol)

Last week I was fortunate enough to photograph the Helms family. . Our sons were soccer buddies for awhile so I used to see them every Saturday for games. Their not on the same team anymore so it was so nice seeing them again. I meet them at the park and we had a great time. I took some senior pictures of Shelby and then the family joined us for some fun. These guys have so much fun together, I couldn't help but say " you guys are such a cute family". I'm sure they got tired of hearing it. But there's nothing nicer than a family that laughs and enjoys each other's company. That's what life is all about...

I promised my nieces that I would take them to Thrifty's with a couple of their friends for a photo shoot. We had the best time. I found these cute shirts and socks at Target and they furnished the rest. They happened to all have converse shoes which worked out great. The only thing I didn't anticipate were they four boys that also decided to tag along. Of course I had to buy them all ice cream too. All I can say is....8 kids, 16 scoups of ice cream, boys dressed like dorks, girls as cute as can be, 1 adult all by herself, people staring, 100 degree heat...PRICELESS!!!

Would you go in public with boys that look like this? Headbands with matching glasses. You gotta love it..

{Bob's Big Boy..Burbank, California}

This is a continuation from my last post about some of my favorite places to eat in Cali. If you have never been to Bob's you have to go. It's been around since 1949 and there are only a few left. This is the original Bob's and sometimes you might see a star or two. My boys swore they saw a star but they didn't know who he was. Guess he isn't that famous. We once saw Drew Carey in there eating and working on his computer. If you decided to go, make sure you get The Original Big Boy Combo, you won't regret it. When you done eating make sure you get a hot fudge cake for desert(yummy)! There's nothing like having your own traditions that you can pass along to your kids. It's the little things in life that make it worth living, and this is one of them.

This was our last stop on our why home to Texas. It's always hard saying goodbye to family.

Did we get the hamburger back in one piece? Well.....of course, I can't say I would have eaten it myself but good ol' Phillip was determinded to try it. He said it was the best hamburger he's every eaten. I can tell you it was sticking together when we pulled it out of the container and was a little smushed, didn't look to appealing but he ate it anyways..

I am in sunny California for a few more days. I was born and raised here so of course I have some favorite eating spots. Now these places are not fine dining, their just places I went as a kid and now my kids also go here. I like to pass on some kind of tradition even if it is at fast food joints. Please keep in mind these were taken with my little point and shoot.This is El Pollo Loco which has the best BRC Burritos around. Beans, rice and cheese. Their also known for their chicken and fresh tortillas.

Who doesen't love Tommy Burgers, that would be me..If you want food with lots of chili on it this is the place. My son loves their chili dogs.

Seth had a hard time finishing this..

DEL TACO!!! I cannot say enough about this place. It kills Taco Bell and Taco Bueno. They have the best red burritos and quesdilla's ever. I swear we must have eaten here everyday. That would explain why we look like chunky burritos..

O.K., this is the best ice cream ever. Thrifty used to be a drug store when I grew up. Now it's called Rite Aid, but if you go in they still have the ice cream station there. You can't beat getting a double scoop for a $1.69. Of course when I grew up a triple was $.75 just shows I'm getting old.

Western bagel the best bagels around!!!

Chi Chi's is down here in Saugus which has been around forever. The same pizza maker is still working there from when I was a kid. Best salads and pasta around. We went here first after getting off the plane..It's a must have...

{Summer Time Fun}

Summer Time Fun:

Thank heavens for having a pool. It can be such a lifesaver especialy since the kids have been bored since school got out. As you can tell the kids are having a great time. I had asked the older kids if they could all squirt water out of their mouth at the same time. They could never seem to do it in sync. As you can tell they had more fun spitting in each other's faces. I love it when they are goofy and just ack like kids.

I had the pleasure of taking pictures of this wonderful family. I had the best time with Raina who is 4 1/2 and full of energy. I seriously can not get over how cute she is. She has the prettiest blue eyes which she got from her mother. As I'm sitting her processing her pictures I hate to get rid of any because she doesen't take a bad picture. Makes me want to have a daugther, which won't be happening anytime soon(per my husband). Sheila I hope you enjoy these.

Meet my new Senior Rep Erica. Is she not beautiful? That's not really a question it's more of a statement. We had the best time in downtown Dallas. We were in what I like to call the art district, also known as Deep Elm. If you have never been down there you should go, we had a wonderful lunch at this little cafe with wonderful service. It's such a wonderful place to take pictures we had great time.

This is our little baby, Siya. You know it dosen't get any cuter than this. Look at that sweet little face. She is half Jack Russell/Rat terrier and we love her to death. At night she loves to crawl under the blankets and sleep at my feet. She seems to have a little trouble in the barking area, she's woken me up a few times. I seem to find alot of "holy socks" all over the place but were working on that. If you every looking for a great dog this is the one to get. She gets along great with our Golden Retriever and Beagel.

The back of my kids head. That's all I seem to be seeing over this nice summer vacation. I know if any of you have kids you know what I'm talking about. Now that dosen't mean I don't play or should I say sing once in awhile. I like to think I could have been a singer in my younger days. Now if you ask my kids they say I'm tone deaf, but what do they know. I like to sing a little Bon Jovi, "Live like you were dying" I think that's it. I guess I'll have to save my singing for my next life. So " THEY" say.

{Dallas Farmers Market}

I finally went to the Dallas Farmers Market after my mother who for years has been bugging me. Since my mother was coming out for my son's graduation I thought this would be the perfect time to go. After researching it on the internet on how to get there, we go. I have lived in Texas for 13yrs, that's how long she's asked. We head to downtown Dallas and pull into the Farmers Market. There's hardly any cars there, which could be because we went on a weekday, that's what I'm thinking. There wasn't a lot of vendors and I had to hear my mom say " these aren't all from the farmers, some of these were shipped, you can tell since they have a sticker on them like the grocery store". O.k. mom, I'm sure your right! Are we done yet. The kids didn't have that much fun either. The watermelon was smushy inside (very disappointed about that)peachy's not to sweet. Next time I'll have to try the Fort Worth Market. Took a couple pictures while I was there. Of course..

I could not be more proud of my son Garrett. Last Saturday he graduated from High School and now he begins the journey of his life. It seems like yesterday when he was so little and learning about the little things in life. Hold on to those moments becasue they go so fast.

Here are a few things that I love about my son: great sense of humor, a gentle heart, great drummer, smart as a whip, great with his brothers, beats to his own drum, never gets influenced by others, has the best smile ever, loves his family and friends, I could go on and on, but most of all he is a Wonderful Son!!!!

This has got to be two of the nicest kids around. Besides being good looking they are so smart. As a parent you can't ask for much more. Vernari need a few pictures for church so we took a few in my frontyard. I asked him pretend like he wasy praying, I think he thought I was crazy.

Can you remember your prom night? Seems like a very long time ago since I went. I won't mention how many years it's been (to many). I can tell you all my classmates were very surprised to see me with make-up on and wearing a dress. In all my years of school I only wore a dress three times, one being prom night. I thought I looked pretty good. Saturday night I took a few pictures of Trent who is like one of my own boys. He took his beautiful girlfriend Olivia with him.

It doesn't matter how old you are it's still fun to find a little surprise in your cereal. That's how I felt when I pulled out the Froot Loops and saw a little surprise waiting for me. Of course I knew what it was because the picture was on the box. Didn't matter to me, I peeled open the box and found my Indiana Jones light up spoon in there. It glowed RED and I loved it. Opening that box made me feel like a kid again. It's nice to know that I'm still young at heart. If you have time grab a box of your favorite cereal and see what sweet surprise you get.

I'm sure you all know why this is my favorite senior, it's my own son. We must have done 4 or 5 different photo shoots because I couldn't seem to find one that was my favorite. Believe me, he was not a happy camper. As you can see I finally found some that I love. I could not be more proud of my son, he has turned out to be such a fine young man. This is such a hard time knowing that he's grown up, going to colleage and starting a life of his own. As a parent you realize it's time to let go and hope you did a good job raising them. Only in Texas can the weather change so fast. Coming from someone who lived in California where it's nice and sunny 99% of the time, it's crazy here. I can tell you that the kids loved playing in it for hours. Of course they were hoping to have a day off from school, but that never happens. Here are just a few from my yard, this was before all of the kids trampled all over it.

It was one of those when you get a dreaded phone call that something has happened to one of you kids. As I got to the school I learned that there was a little bit of horseing around and my son happened to be the one that got hurt. Sometimes I think it a boy thing. I'm told by the nurse that it might need stitches so I'm off to the doctors. Of course, my son need 4 stitches over his eye. Nothing is worse than watching your son get 3 shots in the wound so it could be numbed, we know as parents we would do anything to take their pain away. As he was getting the shots he dug his fingernails into my skin, the pain was horrible. I suppose misery loves company. I do have to say he was such a CHAMP while going through it all. Of course I had to take a couple of pictures.

I so love the game of soccer. When I'm not home in front of my computer or taking care of the house you'll usually find me at one of my son's soccer games. I'm usually on the sideline taking pictures. I remember when I was in high school and I thought soccer was such a boring game. Boy was I wrong! It takes so much to be out there on that soccer field with no pads or anything to protect you. You have to have such endurance to play the game. If you ever get a chance stop by and watch one, you'll fall in love with it.....

This is one of my bestfriends daughter's that I've known since five. I feel like I'm watching one of my own kids grow up and getting ready to move on. It just leaves me feeling a little sad, since my own son will also me graduating. Elizabeth is such a awesome young women who is so unique that I haven't seen another one like her. She's an artist, writer, poet, and so many other things. I would take up this whole blog to tell you what a great person she is. I'm sure one day you'll see her artwork around.

I went to Athens...(Texas)

I can only wish I went to Athens, Greece. For now Athens, Texas works just fine. It's only a 2 hr drive which isn't to bad. I went there to do a senior session and also a session with some friends. Besides the weather we had a great time. As you can tell the girls had no problem posing. Hopefully I'll get back up there over the summer so you can see how beautiful it is up there.

I meet George a couple of weeks ago up in Athens, Tx. If you ever want to me such a respectful young man, he would be the one. I did his senior photo shoot in the cold of winter. We were freezing but well worth it after seeing how wonderful his pictures came out. I think we might see him in the future considering what a awesome football player he is and you never know where he might end up.
